Our detached property is situated on the outskirts of the small charming village of Montchamp, with great views of the French countryside.
Please click here for an aerial view of Montchamp. We offer clean comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation in our traditional Normandy house along with a warm friendly welcome. We are within easy reach of main towns and sightseeing hotspots being located about 12km north-east of Vire - a major town in Lower Normandy (Calvados). We offer 2 double rooms, each with their own separate bathroom facility, these south facing rooms are double glazed and centrally heated. We can provide a host of facilities including help and information for leisure, shopping and house buying. Off road parking on the property is available to guests.
Each room complete with dressing table, wardrobe, double bed, bedside cabinets and a full length mirror also has a TV, a DVD player which will play UK DVD's, an alarm clock, and a hairdryer. Each room has its own separate and spacious, private bathroom facilities, located directly next to the bedroom, comprising shower, hand basin and toilet. Bath towels and hand towels are provided.
The breakfast room is located adjacent to the bedrooms. This facility is available to guests 24 hours a day for tea/coffee making, and use of a refrigerator and a microwave oven. A self-service buffet style breakfast is available until 10am. A small menu of evening meal/snacks and refreshments is available with notice.
A five minute walk will take you in to our tiny and pretty village where there are a few amenities including, a post office, bar/tabac, bakery, "corner shop", petrol pump, and a hairdresser should you have a bad hair day! Ten to fifteen minutes away by car is Vire which has lots of shops, restaurants, bars and all other services, including several large supermarkets which are popular with guests who wish to take home food and alcohol at prices cheaper than the duty free shops.
We are centrally located for all the major places of interest in Lower Normandy including the Normandy D-Day landing sites and will be pleased to point you in the right direction should you need help. We have a reasonably good knowledge of the area and if you need help with something we have not experienced then we will do our best to find the relevant information. If you are looking for property in the Normandy area we can introduce you to English speaking estate agents.
For a reasonable charge we can provide email, use of telephone, photocopying, a computer translation service (English/French French/English) and computer generated maps and directions.
We ask that guests please refrain from smoking on the premises, and that indoor footwear is worn around the house. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 13 years. Thank you.
